About Sami
My love for drawing started as a child, when I would sketch my own magazines, fashion designs and made up books. I loved to create collages and would spend most of my pocket money on art supplies and crafty bits.
My attention later turned to more realistic portraiture when I studied GCSE and A-Level Art. It was when I was supposed to be studying for my Psychology exam that I produced my first pet portrait and although I didn’t do so well in the exam, my parents still have copies of the portrait hanging in their living rooms!
At 27 years old, I realised that I wanted to turn my hobby into something more. In spring 2020, I launched Pets by Sami after completing a few commissions behind the scenes.
I’m a big lover of animals (particularly cats and dogs!) and I understand how much a pet can feel like a part of the family.
