“Working through the process of a commission with Sami of my beloved cat, Bailey, was cathartic, at the very least. [...]
From the beginning, Sami was always very patient with me, even as I kept sending her mock-up photos with notes for minor changes to the portrait [...]. As Bailey’s health declined, the portrait was coming into being. I had something positive to look forward to, not to mention Sami’s kind words of care and concern.
Sami let me request a personalized background that reminded me of Bailey’s blanket, and even to choose the color of the portrait’s matting. Although I unexpectedly had to relocate during the process, she graciously changed the delivery address and method, and promised that I would still receive the portrait in accordance to our original timeline. My beautifully packaged and extremely well protected portrait arrived in Florida from England in only 3 days! [...] I was in awe of the absolutely stunning likeness that I received.
I was devastated when 4 days later, Bailey passed away in my arms.
Because of Sami’s talent and heart, I am able to have Bailey’s exact likeness hanging prominently in my home. I will be lucky enough to get to see his face daily, and it will make me smile [...].
